The Bendan Behan Pub is no ordinary pub. It has been winner of the best Irish pub in Boston four times and referred to as one of the four best beer haunts in America by Interview magazine. It has also been named Boston's best watering hole by the Sunday Tribune in Ireland. The Behan, as it is fondly called by it's many loyal customers, is an authentic Irish pub, with no TVs or pinball machines, truely a talking bar.

Besides a wide variety of wines, liquors and spirits, there is a large selection of draught and bottled beers, consisting of dark ales, sparkling lagers and rich stouts, including, of course, guinness.

Entertainment consists of live Irish seissúns, rock 'n' roll and cutting edge alternative music. The Behan also features plays, storytelling, poetry and book readings by some of Ireland's leading contemporary authors, including J.P. Donleavy, Patrick McCabe, Catherine Phil McCarthy, Evan Boland and Michael O'Shiadi, to name but a few. And there is never a cover charge.

Just a short trolly ride from downtown Boston, this pub is a must.
