About
the meeting
It's that time of the year again, when you have to file your tax
return and hopefully can figure out the changing tax laws
and remember to claim every deduction.
For
some, this is an easy task but for most, especially if one started a
business, got married, purchased a house, sold some stock for a profit,
it can be a daunting task.
John
Hegarty, a Certified Public Accountant with over 30 years
experience, will summarize some of the pertinent changes for the 2000
tax year, and provide attendees with tips on how to maximize returns
while minimizing headaches.
This is the third year that John has given this topic, with last year's
attracting over 80 people.
So arrive early to reserve your seat!
Mortgage
rates
have not been as low in almost two years, and with further uncertainty
about the fate of the US economy and Federal Reserve rate cuts, may
head even lower over the course of the year.
This
is a great opportunity for home buyers to take advantage of extremely
competitive rates and for current owners to refinance.
Our
second speaker, Kerry Ann Salvail, will show you how to shop
around for the deal that's best for you, and understand some of the
language and terms used in the process. Kerry Ann is Vice President
at CTX Mortgage Corporation, with over 20 years experience in financial
services, specializing in mortgages and refinancing.
The
John Hancock
Conference Center is conveniently located in the Copley Square
area of Boston.
Situated
on the corner of Stuart Street, right behind the main John Hancock Tower,
it is easily accessible by MBTA Subway Green Line (to Coplet Station)
and Orange Line (to Back Bay Station), as well as commuter rail and
the Mass Pike.
Parking
is available one block away at 100 Clarendon Street (opp. the Hard Rock
Cafe), on the intersection of Clarendon and Stuart Streets, or some
limited on-street parking slots.
All
are very welcome to attend!
