Overlooking Birmingham, Alabama, at the top of the old iron mountain, is a 110 foot pedestal supporting a 55 foot cast-iron statue of the god Vulcan. Near the parking lot is a plaster model of its foot, used to test the casting methods. It's big.

Jooooooolia threw an shag-themed party just before Austin Powers 2 came out,

Jude organized a lovely hike through the Middlesex Fells on a trail that
took us over every high point in a rather rocky area. The views were
outstanding, but for some reason we kept stopping to rest on top of
windswept crags. We got to the top -- what now?

One particularly cute person resting on top of a windswept crag. That's
Boston's skyline in the background (to give you an idea of how high we were).

When my mother came to visit, we travelled to Plymouth to visit the tourist
attractions there. Here's me shivering up against the mainmast of the
Mayflower II.

As a joke, I hopped in to the trunk of Scott's rental car. I think it looks
somewhere between odd and perverse, but hey. My hand's covering up the
trunk light, which explains the twisting.
